In 2008, the shareholders of GTJ founded a 501(c)3 non-profit charity named the GTJ Foundation. The mission of the GTJ Foundation is to recover and repurpose usable clothing, non-perishable foods, medical supplies, furniture, bicycles and children’s toys. The GTJ Foundation works in conjunction with GTJ personnel to collect these items during the clean out of foreclosures, as well as accepting donations from the general public. Items are repurposed to individuals in need and local charities where they find a new home.

The GTJ Foundation is proud to have worked with many great organizations, including Neighborhood Services Organization (NSO) of Detroit, The Capuchin Center, The Hope Center of Macomb County, Northeast Guidance Center, Big Families of Michigan, Wigs-4-Kids, Humble Designs, and many others.

In addition, the GTJ Foundation holds several fundraising events throughout the year and has donated over $500,000 to other charitable organizations since its inception.

In 2009, the GTJ Foundation was recognized with a Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Five Star Institute at the 9th Annual Five Star Default Management Conference in Dallas, Texas.  Please visit the GTJ Foundation Website  to learn more.
